Army prepares summary of evidence

The summary of evidence against General Sarath Fonseka will be prepared by the army and handed over to Army Commander Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya next week, Military Spokesperson Major General Prasad Samarasingha said.

“The military has almost completed the summary of evidence in regard to General Fonseka’s case. We will produce the report to the Army Commander by next week,” Major General Samarasingha said.

He added that the technical summary against General Fonseka had already been prepared and that too would be handed over to the Army Commander.

Based on all the evidence, action will be taken against the former army commander shortly, the military said.
