Don’t give publicity to Gotabhaya

Western Provincial Councilor Thilanga Sumathipala had yesterday ordered the Editors of the Lakbima newspaper not to give publicity to Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, who has extended his support to Duminda Silva.

Thilanga is annoyed that the Defence Secretary attended nine rallies organized by Duminda Silva during the weekend and asked him to be given the highest number of preferential votes.

Thilanga and Duminda are involved in a battle for supremacy in relation to the preferential votes like during the Western Provincial Council election. While news items related to Duminda Silva are not being published in
     the Lakbima newspapers, the ABC Radio Network owned by Duminda’s brother Raynor Silva has ordered a ban on all news items related to Thilanga.
