Petition To SC Requesting Writ Against Military Tribunals
A petition has been filed before Supreme Court seeking a writ invalidating the military tribunals against Gen. Sarath Fonseka.
The petition has also requested Supreme Court to annul the directive issued by the Commander of Army to arrest Gen. Sarath Fonseka. The petition also requests the release of Gen. Sarath Fonseka and to declare that detention of Gen. Sarath Fonseka was illegal.
A group of lawyers including Presidents Counsel Romesh de Silva instructed by Paul Ratnayake Associates, Attorneysat Law will appear for the petition. The Commander of the Army, the judges of the military tribunal and several others have been named as respondents.
The petition has been filed by Gen. Sarath Fonseka.
