Elections Commissioner Puts A Value Of 50 Cents On A Vote!

The Elections Commissioner had decided to provide 50 cents per vote for all political parties obtaining more than 1% of votes as per the law governing providing funding for political parties.

 

Those parties who obtained more than 1% of votes during the previous General Election of 2004 will be eligible for this at the rate of 50 cents per vote. The funding will be allocated only if the party contests under the same symbol. However, election officials report that no party has applied for this so far.
